Hey Designers – What would you do with this?

Novus Taman Bebek Villas, Sayan, Ubud Bali landscape resort

The gardens at Novus Taman Bebek Villas, Sayan, Ubud are the creation of Made Wijaya. If a client came to me with this project, I think I would go mute trying to figure out why I was blessed with such a privilege and panic over how I could possibly come up with something to make it better.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and for 18 years I have worked as a landscape designer, author/writer, and design teacher. I've designed residential and hospitality (for hotels, restaurants, and spas) gardens across the USA and in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. After many years of teaching garden design topics in person, I launched the PITH + VIGOR Boot Camp series in early 2018. Through my blog, social media, and online courses (Garden Design Bootcamp and Planting Design Boot Camp) I aim to help homeowners learn how to confidently design and create home gardens that reflect their own personal and unique style.

Villa Bebek, ah one of my favorites from Made Wijaya.
In 2006 I was fortunate to travel with a group of friends to Bali on a garden and art and cocktail tour.
Made opened up several of his gardens to us as well as hosted the BEST martini party ever !

Here’s an older blog entry on my visit to Bali including some shots of Made’s own garden and office grounds.
