The Most Amazing Pergola I have Ever Seen!

Standing at 7 meters tall (roughly 23 ft) this pergola, designed by Denton Corker Marshall for the South Bank Parklands in Queensland Australia is really blowing my mid this morning.  It’s huge, it’s sculptural, it provides structure for beautiful bouganvilla, and most interestingly, it is, itself a planter as well.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and for 18 years I have worked as a landscape designer, author/writer, and design teacher. I've designed residential and hospitality (for hotels, restaurants, and spas) gardens across the USA and in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. After many years of teaching garden design topics in person, I launched the PITH + VIGOR Boot Camp series in early 2018. Through my blog, social media, and online courses (Garden Design Bootcamp and Planting Design Boot Camp) I aim to help homeowners learn how to confidently design and create home gardens that reflect their own personal and unique style.

Quite wonderful in its architectural/ organic form. Reminds me of whale rib cage or something monumental but imaginative. Id love to walk thru that space.

Rochelle, Your blog is addictive! So many interesting and inspiring posts as is this one. I love ideas that stimulate the imagination and this pergola certainly does that! Quite amazing as you say. Carol
