Before & After: Joanne’s Front Garden

I love houses like this.  Neighborhoods filled with these types of houses tend to be old enough to have a nice mix of people, they have established trees and landscaping and generally moderate prices.  It is this type of place I prefer over newly built neighborhoods.   This house and garden makeover is so interesting to me because it takes the place from looking like great- grandma’s house to perhaps the home of a newly married young couple.  Now the place looks young and fresh …and this garden is like the botox of landscaping.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and for 18 years I have worked as a landscape designer, author/writer, and design teacher. I've designed residential and hospitality (for hotels, restaurants, and spas) gardens across the USA and in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. After many years of teaching garden design topics in person, I launched the PITH + VIGOR Boot Camp series in early 2018. Through my blog, social media, and online courses (Garden Design Bootcamp and Planting Design Boot Camp) I aim to help homeowners learn how to confidently design and create home gardens that reflect their own personal and unique style.

What a great transformation! I really like the side of the house. We have a ranch house much like this one and we’re FINALLY about to start the de-grandma-ing. Can’t wait until we have the “young couple” house and not the “grandma house.”

    🙂
