Before & After: Mediterranean Curb Appeal

This makeover is lovely — gone is the concrete driveway; in it’s place a prettier, permeable green drive.

Gone is the lawn; in it’s place a much more interesting mix of water wise plantings.

And I am wondering if the tree that was up crowding the house is the same tree that is now planted more interestingly between the stairs, the sidewalk and the driveway.  If that save was made then this is truly a great project.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and for 18 years I have worked as a landscape designer, author/writer, and design teacher. I've designed residential and hospitality (for hotels, restaurants, and spas) gardens across the USA and in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. After many years of teaching garden design topics in person, I launched the PITH + VIGOR Boot Camp series in early 2018. Through my blog, social media, and online courses (Garden Design Bootcamp and Planting Design Boot Camp) I aim to help homeowners learn how to confidently design and create home gardens that reflect their own personal and unique style.

It definitely is an improvement, huge really. I do like that they softened the color of the house too. I always find that white really glares in the sun. But this creamy color is much easier on the eyes. It makes much more sense to have the garden than to have to mow up and down that incline as well.
