An Emsa Garden

This post can be parked squarely in the category, of look, but don’t touch (at least if you are in the USA). I can’t find anyone with a US distribution.

Nonetheless, I am officially obsessed with Emsa, the German housewares company.  Their line of garden goodies is unlike anything here in the US and totally enviable.

There are the requisite un-twee, chic-er than average containers and windowbox planters.  (you have to check out this cool page where you can mix and match the window box to your liking)

But more than that, they have solved some real gardener problems.  Take the EasyDrain which is a felt bag that you place in your pot and cover with earth.  Not only does it prevent waterlogging but also protects all outdoor containers effectively against frost. In addition, the high-grade, expanded clay drainage layer provides an extra water reservoir, creating an ideal climate for the roots.  I need some of those easy drain bags!!

More at Emsa — and if you know someone who is selling in the US — do share.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and for 18 years I have worked as a landscape designer, author/writer, and design teacher. I've designed residential and hospitality (for hotels, restaurants, and spas) gardens across the USA and in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. After many years of teaching garden design topics in person, I launched the PITH + VIGOR Boot Camp series in early 2018. Through my blog, social media, and online courses (Garden Design Bootcamp and Planting Design Boot Camp) I aim to help homeowners learn how to confidently design and create home gardens that reflect their own personal and unique style.
