I think the hardest part about making a good design is restraint. I love such a wide range of styles and looks and I always have the temptation to bring way too many ideas to the table…restraint and defining a refined vision that you can stick to is key to achieving a great design (no matter if we are talking interiors, exteriors, graphic, architectural or whatever).
The lesson I take from this garden is the reminder of restraint. The simple plant palette and color scheme keep this garden serenely inviting and truly provides the serene respite that so many people hope to create in their gardens.

I love the slate tabletops that match the pavers. So restful.
