Loving good inspiration pictures, I am forever finding pictures of things and squirreling them away — I seem to have an abundance of containers and container plantings that I have struck my fancy and to be honest…I want to clear them out of my ‘to file’ pile….so I am rounding them up here….maybe you will like them as much as I do….the ideas here are really influencing me this season for all my containers that I do for clients and myself.

Really, I just love the little terracotta pots and bamboo to make simple growing frames. It’s charming and I think I might re-create it with the plethora of little espresso jars that I can’t bring myself to throw away. (really I either need to cut back on my caffeine habit, or continue to find good uses for little jars – like this…)
Have you seen Mary Martha Collins’ concrete containers?
The colors that she applies to the concrete are so vivid and earthy and make plants really shine don’t you think?
All of these (above and below) where created by Loomis Creek Nursery in the Hudson Valley. I am planning to plant some of my containers with singlular or maybe two plant varieties this year. Restraint and texture are what I am going for. Grasses, asparagus fern, and heuchera with a single splash of dahlia really are pretty together don’t you think?
The gray pots and the gravel that matches strike me as a very sophisticated look. I wonder if it was on purpose?… it doesn’t matter…it’s worth trying to re-create.
Those are really quite lovely. This is an artist at work:)
symphony in green. For me who live in the mineral city, heart of paris, these photographies are true emotion, true evasion. Thank you!
Looks great! Have to give it a try.
