A Pre-Valentine’s Garden Gear GIVE-AWAY

February 4, 2009

The French seem to know how to do everything lifestyle related a little bit better  and a little bit more stylish than we in the US do…I mean, obviously food and fashion, but also gardening.  One example, the collection of Le Prince Jardiniere – for truly stylish garden gear.   You have to be able to read French to understand the the website, but at least you can navigate around and look at the nice products.   And if you have questions, email them, someone there speaks English, I have ordered from them — they do ship to the USA.

Perhaps a lovely gift for your Valentine, I am giving away a garden gilet from Le Prince Jardiniere.

Prince Jardinier Gilet

I will end the giveaway this Saturday (2/7) night at Midnight (EST) which should give enough time to arrive to you or your sweetie by the 14th.

Here is what you have to do to enter (it seems like maybe I made it too hard the first time so making it a little easier):

Comment on this post and tell us  what your favorite flower(s) to receive are (probably in a valentines or other sweet bouquet).

More details about the Gilet: It is really nice canvas, lined with a cream cotton material that has garden tools on it.  It has 3 exterior pockets and 5 interior pockets.  It is red and is size large.   This is what it looks like on a mannequin…and in black (but the giveaway is for a red one).

My favorite flowers are sunflowers. I love them included in an arrangement of any wildflowers! I’m just a homey country girl style when it comes to bouguets. The vest looks ADORABLE!

  2. Hazel S says:

    Hi,

My favourite flower of all time is freesia – i find it evocative of something but I don’t know what. Maybe I haven’t experienced it yet. It has a lovely peppery smell that makes my toes curl. I always appreciate freesia in a bouquet.

Have you seen the shop called Deyrolle that Le Prince Jardiniere took over with all the stuffed animals and scientific samples?I saw it when we there in 2003. It is truly amazing. I think I met the ‘Prince’ himself. He showed us his gardening line and the aprons he had put on his stuffed gazelles. I kid you not!!

  3. Alice Joyce says:

If my sweetie might be coerced to ignore such things as buying groceries for the week,
I would have him go to Ovando (ovandony.com)
and request the modern Two Lips bouquet be shipped cross-country: red – the color of passion, loosely and romantically arranged fringed tulips encased in a red dogwood fan. Yes…..

  4. Anything arranged by the florists “BLOEM” in the Amsterdam airport. They put together the most wonderful eye candy – in colors and textures that bounce off each other until you are hypnotized. One arrangement was a pink alstroemeria, pink callas, eucalyptus, blushed pink chrysanthemums, an old-pink tinged brown-green hydrangea, and a deep fuschia phlox for punch …
Otherwise, a bunch of fragrant paper whites would be lovely since by then, mine will be all gone. And they remind me that hellebores and daffodils will be coming soon.

  5. Hilary says:

My favorite flower would have to be a hydrangea, the first time I saw them I didn’t even believe that they were real. I just wished that they would survive outside here so that I could have them around more often.
