I hate to start seeds indoors. Do you? I find it is really a giant hassle to set it all up in my living room (lights, tables, dirt, shooing my cat away from nibbling seedlings, etc.) I have decided without a green house it simply isn’t worth it. The plantarium garden lab on the other hand has some potential.
For 40$ you get a set of 3 plantariums. Using a nutritive and non-toxic gel created in collaboration with NASA scientists, Plantariums allow you to watch plants grow both above and below the surface. Seedlings can later be transplanted into your garden and the kit even includes mini-pots and peat pucks. What I would love to see is the gel and parts available individually, so that I can use other glass containers I have around the house to temporarily re-purpose into plant starters that have a bit of style.
That plantarium garden lab is fantastic. They have a pop quality to them, and in my favorite colors. I am taking a propagation class, and I think they would get a kick out these new cold boxes.
I think Soil Moist crystals come in colors? I ought to try that. I hate seed-starting too and I have a bunch of some brand of colored water-absorbing crystals for starting bulbs in my garage.
I like this. The water in my area is very high in mineral sediments so soil moist cyrstals are out here as they retain the salt. Availibilty of the gel would be great.
