I am so excited to give this DIY project a try for the summer. Lifehacker has put together a great how to for creating beautiful garden lights, powered purely by the sun. The total cost is short money – particularly if like me, you already have lots of jars to spare (think about all those glass containers for pickles, jellies and spaghetti sauce you use). The easy instructions use materials from your average big box hardware store and if you are using recycled jars, can be made for less that 10$/each.

Solar rules. I want to get a solar water fountain going…if nothing else..a little solar trickle as the foggy season will be starting in next couple months. Matti
Hi, your solar lights just showed up on pinterest..I have a question..the original post said you had to use jars with glass lids for the solar light to charge..it seems that you have not..so how did you manage that? Upside down?
