The Designers Closet Cleanout

July 14, 2010

This is the first of what I expect and hope will be quite a few in a series of posts over the next few days.  I have just wrapped up a couple projects, and you see, I am in a bit of a funk…a little uninspired, and a little overwhelmed.  I have some vacation planned so I will work my way out of it with a little fresh air and a change of scenery.  Do you ever get that way? I am curious what gets other people out of this type of mental state.  A trip definitely works for me.

But before I take off, I have house guests coming. This weekend. In a flurry of cleaning and preparing I have decided to address (by friday night) the heaping pile of crap (or should I say product catalogs, flyers, samples, etc) that resides in my basement. That pile, which only grows and never shrinks, is a disorganized mess and a horrific testament to the waste in the marketing of landscape products. That pile  is one of the reasons I initially began writing Studio ‘g’. I wish that pile to go away like nothing I have wished for before. In it’s place, I want to organize links to those vendors and contacts here on this site. When I need them, I can and  I will find them.  This is for my use and yours and I intend to do it right now… no excuses.
There is nothing like throwing a party or inviting guests to stay to inspire an all out clean out.
First up is Outdoor Furniture Suppliers Part 1.  I am feverish and working away on this right now…I expect it should be up in about an hour.

  1. I do indeed get into those kinds of funks. When I do, I have to hide in a cave and build something…

  2. Shellene says:

I too just finished up a project that involved so many renderings that it sucked the life out of me. Nothing a great day of golf with my husband wont cure : ) Then back to the drawing more to do it all over again, and again, and again! I do love my work… some projects just never end and I need for them to. So I completely understand where your comming from, you need to be recharged!

  3. Louise says:

Thanks for benefiting us all with your cleaning urge!
Have a wonderful, well deserved vacay.
