Iron Snow Gauge

December 1, 2011

I am so glad I don’t need this yet (trully I am more than happy for the white stuff to stay away for another month – I actually was gardening – and enjoying myself – putting in new plants just 2 days ago!).

I think this snow gauge would be really a nice addition to a garden both in the winter and the summer.

Here’s hoping that the 3 footer isn’t necessary. Available at Ironworks home.

I can’t believe how warm it was just a few days ago. I was out in a t-shirt putting in plow stakes for this coming winter. I like the snow gauges. Thanks for posting these.

  2. What a fab idea, they make nice sculptures in their own right – though I’m with you on not wanting to use them just yet!

  3. I agree, I’m not sure I want the 3 footer to be useful, but these are so beautiful as sculptural elements (and a number of my garden clients have a need for a cool sculpture), that I’d love to see a 6 or 7 foot version. Obviously, it’d have to come apart for shipping, so that might add some complication, but really, if these come taller, I’d be thrilled. ~Molly

  4. W Conklin says:

This is a great idea. I agree with greg its been abnormally warm this year so it might be a few more weeks till these get any use. I like the idea I think it would be fun if you have smaller children.

  5. Delphine says:

    Good Idea, nice object !

  6. I bought one of these as a Christmas gift for a friend years ago and she never used it. It’s probably sitting in her barn someplace. Or re-gifted. Pisses me off. I always thought it was a clever, artful gauge. No snow in Buffalo yet to measure though!
