String Garden Mosquito Repellers

June 28, 2012

I simply adore this idea for a practical application of string gardens.   That is, use the string gardens (formally know as kokedama)  as a tool for dangling lavender and rosemary plants in an area where you wish to repel mosquitos.  As natural insect repellants, the hanging plants are placed precisely where they need to be — just in the vicinity of your head and face (which btw is what attracts the nasty buggers– when you exhale they sense the carbon dioxide).    More images and directions to make your own at Design*sponge.
