Royal College of Art Sustainable Chair Challenge

October 10, 2012

Besides being stunning works of design, this recent V&A Museum display caught my eye. These chairs (and more) were all designed and built by Royal College of Art students and through the entire process, they measured each detail and input for sustainability.

If you have spent any amount of time thinking about about the depth to which you can delve when discussing sustainability issues and measurements you might also find this intriguing. Not only would I love to know what the measurements were, but I would love to see these beautiful designs in person.

I am taking particular inspiration from the bridge bench… I simply love the simple moveable design and the thought of sitting on the bench with my feet dangling over a brook — or even better laying back on it to relax for a moment while the water runs beneath.
